SCHOOL PROFILE

San Antonio National High School Paranaque is a junior high school located at Hontiveros Compound, Fourth Estate Subdivision, Barangay San Antonio, Parañaque City, in a one thousand (1,000) square meter lot acquired by the local government of Parañaque City through “dacion en pago” (handing back the keys). 

The school serves 2,715 students from grades 7 to 10. The margins of the school stretch from the old CAP building to the vacant lot of Hontiveros. Since San Antonio National High School Paranaque is a neighborhood school, almost half of the student body, walk to and from the school.

The school was established by virtue of the City Resolution No. 15-051 Series of 2015 approved by 16 City Councillors, Vice Mayor and the City Mayor last April 16, 2015. The establishment of the school gave the grade 6 graduates of Sampaloc Site Elementary School, Fourth Estates Elementary School, and San Antonio Elementary School a greater opportunity to finish junior high school especially those who belong to the poor and average-income families of Barangay San Antonio and the nearby areas.

          Programs within the school include intramural sports in Athletics, SPARK-UP Reading Program, Learning More in Math Program, Advanced Classes in Math and Science, Journalism Club for English and Filipino, and Feeding Program for severely wasted grade 7 students. Many of these programs would not be possible without the untiring efforts of the school’s program coordinators, General Parents and Teachers Association (SAHS- GPTA), and the support of the LGU.

SOCIO-ECONOMIC AND DEMOGRAPHIC BACKGROUND

Barangay San Antonio, one of the sixteen (16) barangays of Parañaque City, occupies and aggregate land area of 278.19 hectares. It ranks as the fourth (4th) largest size among the Barangays of the City of Parañaque. It is bounded on the north by Barangay Don Bosco and Barangay San Isidro, on the west and south by Barangay B.F. Homes, and on the east by South Super highway.

HISTORICAL BACKGROUND

Barangay San Antonio was created through presidential decree No. 1329 on April 3, 1978. The barangay was an original part of Barangay San Dionisio that was later separated and became an independent barangay.

ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE

There are 91 teachers at San Antonio National High School Parañaque ; 86  of which are in the plantilla of San Antonio National High School Paranaque , 2 teachers are from Dr. Arcadio Santos National High School, 1 teacher from Baclaran High School , 1 from Masville National High School and 1 from Sun Valley National High School.

 

The 12 non- teaching personnel of San Antonio National High School Parañaque are all Local School Board (LSB) employees hired and paid by the local government.

 

As per DepEd ORDER No. 40 s. 2014 titled “Establishment, Merging, Conversion, and Naming/Renaming of Public Schools, and Separation of Public School Annexes in Basic Education”, the requirements for the application for establishment of San Antonio High School- PNHS Annex were completed and submitted to the Division office for evaluation last September 23, 2016. The same documents were forwarded to the Regional Office for further evaluation and approval.

The Regional Evaluation Team inspected the school last November 16, 2016 and verified the completeness and veracity of the documents submitted.

The Regional Evaluation Team headed by Dr.  Crisanto Ecija,  Mr. Christian T. Español, Ms. Arsenia Lara and Dr. Flor Bagayan visited the school last November 16, 2016. The team advised the principal to convert two (2) rooms to a Chemistry Laboratory and Home Economics room. The team also noticed that the library needed additional globe, atlas, maps and references. The findings of Regional Evaluation Team were noted by San Antonio High School administration.

Finally, after evaluating the requirements submitted for the establishment of the school, the DepEd found that the same was in Order, in accordance with law and DepEd Order no. 40, series of 2014; the establishment of the school was hereby approved last January 11, 2017. The letter of approval was awarded to Dr. Maria Rhodora P. Espino, principal II of SANHSP, by the NCR Regional Director IV, Dr. Ponciano Menguito.

Today, SANHSP prides itself with up-to-date facilities, well-trained and dedicated faculty and staff, integrated and relevant curriculum, and quality standard educational practices. The school programs always lead to the well-being of the students to develop them to be well-adapted individuals, armed with wisdom and courage, confident in facing the challenges of the outside world.

 

CURRICULUM

The school offers the K to 12 Basic Education Program of the Department of Education. San Antonio High School Parañaque is a junior high school which provides education for middle school students who graduated from the nearby San Antonio, Fourth Estate, and Sampaloc Site Elementary Schools. Students from the heterogeneous group of learners are provided with curriculum enhancement activities and programs to suit their academic needs.

The early registration campaign ensures the right of all school-aged learners to enroll and be equally provided with quality, accessible, relevant, and liberating basic education.

The Early Registration for incoming Grade 7 Learners in SANHSP for the School-Year 2021-2022 was started last March 26, 2021, and ended on April 30, 2021

The School is a Free-Tuition Public High School for Grade 7 to Grade 10 Learners only.
